Situation

Google approached Geyser Marketing Group ('Geyser') in 2010 with a goal to acquire more small and mid-sized business customers for their industry leading AdWords product.

Solution

The team at Geyser worked with the Small Business Marketing team at Google to launch a co-marketing program that would lead to marketing partnerships with leading financial institutions, retailers and online service companies that had the target audience that Google was after.

The AdWords co-marketing program is an integral acquisition channel for Google. With this program, Google found a way to acquire new customers cost effectively by aligning to brands that have a lot of influence with small and mid-sized business customers and offering them special coupons to trial AdWords and content to help grow their business online.
